Magic happens when Daisy and Pedro find an acorn in the woods and plant it in a pot on the windowsill. Soon, their baby acorn has become Tree: too big for its pot and needing to be rehomed outside, in the street. First an owl, then gradually hundreds of birds, bugs and butterflies come to live in Tree's spreading branches. The city dwellers pull up chairs and dine in its shade in the hot summer. When Autumn comes, the wind blows and acorns rain down. Daisy and Pedro fly with the jays to plant them all over the city and ensure that in the years to come everyone can enjoy Tree's gifts.
